Created in 1979 by the cable television industry, C-SPAN provides live, gavel-to-gavel coverage of the US House of Representatives. We later added: C-SPAN2, covering the US Senate; C-SPAN3, more public affairs; and coverage of the executive branch, international public affairs events and campaigns/elections. Weekend programming includes Book TV and American History TV. Our main goal: Provide unedited, balanced and commentary-free coverage of US public affairs.
