Job Description

Salary: $100,000
Reports To: Vice President, Consulting Services

Position Summary

The Senior Revenue Growth Specialist will play a key role in leading revenue growth strategies for Hub clients. This role focuses on helping news organizations diversify and expand revenue streams, including membership, major gifts, corporate philanthropy, advertising, sponsorships, events and other emerging income sources. A strong foundation in membership and an understanding of how membership strategy and success shapes major donor, advertising, sponsorship and philanthropic revenue streams is essential.

This is both a strategic and execution role, working closely with the V.P. of Consulting and talented members of the News Revenue Hub staff. We’re interested in meeting candidates with a range of experiences and backgrounds if you have a track record of driving revenue growth for organizations in one or more lines of business.

Job Requirements

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in one or more of the following revenue areas in journalism or nonprofits: membership or small dollar fundraising, major donor management or cultivation, corporate philanthropy, advertising, or events.
  • Comfort with data and analytics. You can review a data set—website traffic, revenue, list growth—and not only understand it but see trends and opportunities within and translate those things to others.
  • Demonstrable experience leading, developing and executing revenue strategy in a professional environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to new situations, solve problems on the fly, and communicate with those around you. Teamwork and resourcefulness required, and confidence to ask for advice when needed
  • An ability to move between the big picture and the day-to-day and to help newsroom staffers do the same.
  • Empathy, communication, respect, patience, and a willingness to help out, whether it's the Hub, a member you serve, or someone else!
  • The ability to self-motivate, self-manage and work remotely.
