About KMXT & Kodiak

KMXT’s news department reports and produces local news daily, contributes to the Alaska Public Radio Network, and produces the Alaska Fisheries Report, distributed statewide. In the past year, KMXT news stories have been featured on NPR national news and National Native News.

KMXT is located on Kodiak Island, a beautiful, remote island about 250 miles south of Anchorage. The City of Kodiak, one of eight communities on the island, is home to about half of Kodiak’s 13,000 residents.
