Summary

Entravision is seeking a bilingual Assignment Editor to support its national, streaming-first news operation serving U.S. Hispanic audiences across FAST, OTT, digital, social, and broadcast platforms.

The Assignment Editor will identify, verify, and coordinate coverage of breaking and developing news stories from across the country. The ideal candidate is digitally savvy, highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong understanding of how audiences consume news across streaming and social platforms.

Essential Functions

• Monitor national breaking news, social media, wire services, public safety sources, and emerging trends.
• Identify, verify, and develop stories relevant to Hispanic audiences nationwide.
• Coordinate coverage with producers, reporters, correspondents, and field crews.
• Book interviews and assist with logistics for live and breaking news coverage.
• Build and maintain relationships with newsmakers, public information officers, and community organizations.
• Monitor platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, and WhatsApp for story opportunities.
• Support content distribution across streaming, digital, social, and broadcast platforms.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred..
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong speaking, writing, editing, and translation skills in both languages.
• Strong news judgment and knowledge of current events.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to breaking news situations.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts during major breaking news events.
• Strong understanding of digital news consumption and social media trends.
• Experience verifying social media and user-generated content.
• Familiarity with newsroom systems, CMS platforms, and digital publishing tools.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
